Introduction to Sketching
Presenting "Introduction to Sketching," a 6-part Workshop series to introduce you to the world of drawing designed and taught by professional artist Pedro Loureiro. Through exercises, demos, talks, and examples, this in-depth series will take you from total beginner to feeling comfortable drawing the world around you.
Mini Workshop Topics:
Intro to Sketching 1 - Getting Started: Tools And Basic Drawing Techniques - Familiarise yourself with the different tools for sketching and line making—paper, pencil, pen and ink, and how to choose and control each of them
Intro to Sketching 2 - Learn to See: Blind Sketching with Eyes Wide Open - Learn about blind contour sketching, the first step to learning how to see an object before learning how to sketch it
Intro to Sketching 3 - Volume, Textures, and Shadows - Visualise volume, texture, and shadow, and translate that three-dimensional information to paper
Intro to Sketching 4 - Shapes: How to Fake Perspective and Face the Blank Page - Use shapes to describe any object or space in a sketch, without applying perspective rules
Intro to Sketching 5 - Focus Your Sketch (and Your Story) - Focus your sketch on a single aspect to enhance its storytelling potential with filtering elements, negative space, and connections
Intro to Sketching 6 - Composition 101: Getting Fancy With Your Page - Learn five simple composition tricks to help you make all the elements in your sketch work as a whole
Every Live Workshop will run for approximately 60 minutes via Zoom and is open to a maximum of 300 people. Participants will have access to a recording of the workshop 4 days after the live session.
Note: The purchase of an individual Mini Workshop will only give you access to that specific workshop alone, not the full series. If you'd like to access the full series of 6 workshops, you may purchase the bundle at a discounted price.
